Now Recruiting: Finance Manager

The Finance Manager will be responsible for day-to-day financial processes for the Charity and its Trading subsidiary, to maintain the company accounts to Trial Balance, prepare all balance sheet reconciliations and put together a good first draft of the management’s accounts (incl I&E, balance sheet and cash flow)

  • To support the CEO in delivering appropriate standards of financial management for the organisation.
  • To undertake all accounting functions and the production of monthly management accounts and year-end statutory accounts.
  • To ensure the integrity of financial activities and financial records by developing, implementing and maintaining accurate and efficient processes for all financial activity.
  • To ensure compliance with applicable laws and procedures
  • To produce consistent and reliable financial reporting, monitoring accounts, activity reports and financial forecasts.
  • To support the CEO in producing profitability analysis and financial strategy.

Terms and conditions

Hours: 9.30am – 5.30pm / 2 days per week
Contract: 6 months - Contractor (possibility to extend)
Salary: £200-£260 per day, depending on experience
Location: Somerset House, New Wing, The Strand

Now Recruiting: Programme Manager

The Programme Manager will be an important member of the team responsible for designing and delivering an annual programme of events, training and workshops, resource development and network facilitation, which is designed to increase awareness and uptake of environmental best practice across the music, festivals, theatre, dance, visual arts, museums, literature, and broader creative and cultural community. This programme is delivered in partnership with associations, membership bodies, development agencies, local authorities, Arts Council England, and pivotal organisations within both the environmental sustainability sector, and the creative sector.

The Programme Manager will support the design and coordination of the annual programme, working across art forms, with Arts Council funded and other subsidised companies, as well as the commercial sector.

The Programme Manager will work closely with the CEO and other Programme Managers to ensure that a coherent programme of industry engagement and activities take place, and that the community of organisations and individuals engaged with Julie’s Bicycle receive the most relevant, up to date, and exciting news, resources, case studies and event offers.

As a mission-driven organisation, communications and effective public positioning of our work and this issue are key, and the Programme Manager will be directly involved in delivering our events marketing strategy.

Terms and conditions

Contract: Full time / fixed term until April 2018 (possibility to become permanent)
Salary: £28,000 per annum

Now Recruiting: Communications Manager

The Communications Manager will be an integral member of the team responsible for designing and delivering an annual communications strategy that is in line with the needs and mission of the organisation.

This post will combine strategic thinking with editorial instincts including the ability to write excellent copy. The Communications Manager will be involved with all aspects of communications delivery, using online and other appropriate tools.

Julie’s Bicycle is a small mission-driven organisation that has a global impact, effective communications and strategic positioning of our work is critical in, and to, everything we do. The Communications Manager will also be directly supporting the team in delivering our events marketing activity. 

Julie’s Bicycle team members hold responsibility for their own projects, working collaboratively across activities, and supporting each other in a non-hierarchical manner. You will be working closely with the Programme Managers and the CEO of the company, as well as collaborating with our freelance PR and marketing Associates.

Contract: Full time, fixed term until April 2018 (Possibility to extend)

Salary: £30,000 per annum (pro-rata)

Now Recruiting: Environmental Sustainability Coordinator

We are looking for an Environmental Sustainability Coordinator to support our partnership with Arts Council England (ACE), providing guidance to ~700 National Portfolio Organisations (NPOs) as they submit environmental data, policies and action plans through our reporting portal, the Creative IG Tools. The role will require a strong foundation of knowledge related to understanding environmental impacts (e.g. energy, water, waste) and operational environmental sustainability.  

Subject to funding, if the role gets extended, the post-holder will also support the team on developing content for new resources such as fact sheets, guides and top tips, and also support the delivery of our consultancy portfolio and the Creative Green certification service.

The successful candidate will be numerically-competent as well as a confident and enthusiastic communicator (both written and verbal) with good IT skills, and a passion for environmental sustainability. This role would suit a recent graduate, ideally with an environmental science background (or similar). 

Terms and conditions

Contract: Full time, 3 months - fixed term until July 2017 (possibility to extend)

Salary: £21,000 - £24,000 (pro rata) starting at £21,000
